North Irvine Villages Association (NIVA) Meeting Minutes

The mission of the North Irvine Villages Association (NIVA) is to enlist, organize,
and coordinate the efforts of the member homeowner's associations
and community residents in evaluating and addressing—in a
community-wide fashion and perspective—matters affecting the community
as a whole, and in influencing decision-makers for the benefit of the north Irvine community.

NIVA is an umbrella organization representing homeowner associations in north Irvine. The group monitors affairs that may have impacts to north Irvine neighborhoods, such as new housing and business developments. They review and comment to the Irvine City Council on matters related to land use, traffic concerns, park facilities, environmental impacts, etc. Each member homeowner association in north Irvine typically has one individual that attends monthly meetings and represents the interests of that association. Canyon Creek is a member homeowner's association.

After 29 years in existence, the North Irvine Villages Association (NIVA) was disbanded in March 2010 due to lack of participation by member associations and frustration that the City of Irvine leadership was ignoring the feedback that NIVA was providing on behalf of north Irvine.
